This position reports to the Biosafety Account Manager for the territory and/or the COO.

 

Primary Territory:

This position requires at least 90% of hours spent traveling within the Midwestern territory.

Additional travel outside of the territory at the discretion of the Executive Management Committee is possible.

We are looking for a new team member to join our service team who is eager to travel, service accounts, and assist with installations throughout the Midwestern territory, with occasional travel throughout the continental US! Our unique technology, experienced biosafety account management team, decontamination expertise, and extensive product line make us an industry leader in the biosafety and research industries.

 

The full-time staff position of Junior Biosafety Field Service Technician is a member of the Quip Laboratories’ Team tasked with client service, repairs, reporting, and installations throughout Quip’s current and potential client base. This individual must have strong mechanical knowledge and be readily available to perform emergency repairs and services within the defined territory. This individual must have the ability to identify, diagnose, and correct operational issues. Individuals in this role will receive training in technical services, products, equipment, industry specific trends, and sales techniques.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Repair, service, and provide technical support at current and prospective client facilities
  • Generate and complete service and equipment inspection reports for clients
  • Complete and turn in field reports that capture all time and work completed on site
  • Provide diagnostic analysis, repair, or preventative maintenance to customers
  • Complete on-site system audits and evaluations
  • Practice and adhere to best safety/training practices
  • Expand sales and contribute to the growth of the company’s revenue, brand recognition, and positive reputation in the Midwestern territory through high-touch service
  • Identify sales opportunities with prospective clients and communicate them to Biosafety Account Manager for the territory
  • Maintain client satisfaction by using creativity and ingenuity to investigate complaints, identify resolutions, suggest enhanced operating techniques, and recommend system improvements
  • Support the area’s Biosafety Account Manager in delivering and following up on leads, proposals, bids and offer of products and services to prospective, new and existing clients in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate and support internal product and service experts as they present, propose, and provide products and services
  • Gather and report intelligence on customer and prospect interests and challenges, as well as activities and offerings of the company’s current competitors
  • Assist with installations
  • Submit expense reports in a timely manner

 

Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities including maintenance, repair, and calibration of field equipment. The successful candidate will be a problem solver who is responsive to customers’ needs and will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers in order to aid customers in the successful use of our products and equipment. This understanding will be created by developing an appropriate level of communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and mitigate any issues the customers may face.

 

Requirements:

Must gain understanding and knowledge of the company’s products and services through on-the-job training. Previous customer service or sales experience and most importantly, a strong mechanical background with some electrical & electronic expertise is desired. This candidate must have a self-starting attitude, a strong work ethic, and prove to work well with a team. The candidate must have ability to achieve, relate well with clients, and gain a thorough knowledge of how the company’s products and services are superior to competitors for cleaning, disinfection and sanitation associated with the goals of biosafety.

 

Travel Requirements:

This position requires at least 90% travel within the assigned territory during the business week, which will include overnight stays. This position requires travelling within an assigned multi-state territory. Primary territory of travel is KY/MO/OH/TN; however, travel may be needed in any state in the continental US for training and installations.

 

Position Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week, including occasional weekend work. Overnight travel required.
  • Candidates are required to obtain/maintain respirator fit testing, annual MMR titers, and annual Tb tests.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to complete pre-employment assessments including a physical, lift, and/or carry 50 pounds and drug screen.
  • Personal Protection: PPE may be worn on customer sites, including a full-face respirator at times.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical experience (minimum 2 years), ideally with some basic electrical experience.
  • Technical School or College Degree
  • Experience in the science, research, or animal care industry (preferred but not required)
  • Strong communication skills and well-accustomed to client-facing roles
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 90%
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Power Point)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Compensation Package:

A competitive annual base salary dependent on experience. Benefits package that includes sick/personal time, vacation, health/dental/vision/life insurance, and 401-k based upon the Company Handbook. In addition to the above listed benefits, the following items may be furnished at the discretion of the CEO: a company-paid car (after 90 days), a company-paid mobile phone, a company-paid laptop computer, a company-paid tablet, a company-paid gas card, a company expense card and toll tag.

 

PPE Requirements: Safety Glasses (minimum), splash goggles if needed, face shield if required or requested, chemically resistant gloves (nitrile), nuisance odor disposable respirators (as need or requested), chemically resistant apron (as needed), protective clothing.

 

Physical Requirements:

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Occasionally Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.

Hazards Associated with Position:  

  • Potential exposure to some chemicals that can cause irritation to nasal passages, eyes respiratory system.
  • Material handling issues that require the movement and/or manipulation of products and equipment.

We are growing our customer service team to help support our expanding business. We are looking for a part-time intern who is very detailed-oriented to help answer calls and process quotes and orders. This position is currently fully remote, but our office is based in the Wilmington, DE area. If the candidate is a good fit, the position may evolve into a full-time opportunity within the next 2-3 months! Even the full-time role will still be a hybrid role with remote capabilities.

This part-time internship as Client Support Specialist acts as a front line position for communication with Quip Laboratories’ customers. This position is responsible for daily interactions with our customers both over the phone and via email with a focus on generating quotations and order entry.

Primary Responsibilities: This professional’s principal duties involve the following, but may also include additional tasks to be performed as needed:

Order Entry

  • Accurate daily entry of customer orders which are received via email, phone and fax
  • Complying with and conforming orders to contracts, blanket purchase orders, and customer-specific standing orders
Quote Generation
  • Accurate daily generation of customer quotes
  • Establishment of reminders through the Step 1 system, as well as via email to the Biosafety Account Managers to ensure quotes are received by customers within an established timeframe
Customer Service
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Provide support as needed to Biosafety Account Managers in relation to their customers
Additional Duties
  • Working with our distributors to resolve warranty issues with clients
  • Assisting with putting together spreadsheets and/or contracts
The professional in this role must have excellent organizational skills, display great attention to detail, and possess an ability to multitask while completing their assignments. Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is required.
This position is currently fully remote and working hours are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with a schedule to be agreed upon by the candidate and employer (possibly 11-4 or 12-5), with the potential for more hours or a higher hourly rate depending on experience and qualifications.
